Mompremier Earns AP All-America Honorable Mention
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – For the second straight season, redshirt senior Beatrice Mompremier has earned postseason recognition from the Associated Press, receiving an AP All-American Honorable Mention nod on Thursday.
The Miami native is just the fifth Cane in program history to earn an All-America honor in back-to-back seasons, joining the likes of Tamara James, Francis Savage, Shenise Johnson and Riquna Williams.
Mompremier received the distinction following her final season with the Miami Hurricanes, averaging 16.8 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. She ranked first and fifth in the Atlantic Coast Conference rebounding and scoring, respectively, while sitting sixth in blocked shots (1.41) and seventh in field goal percentage (.521).
Mompremier eclipsed the 1,000 rebound mark this season, becoming the 13th active NCAA Division I women’s basketball player to reach 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in her career.
The AP All-America postseason list is comprised of 37 players, including 22 that made the Honorable Mention cut. Mompremier is one of five ACC players to appear on the list.
