Jordan Selected One of Three Mackey Finalists
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami sophomore Brevin Jordan was selected as one of three finalists for the 2019 John Mackey Award honoring the nation’s top tight end, it was announced Monday.
An All-ACC second-team selection a season ago, Jordan has put together an impressive sophomore campaign, compiling a team-high 495 receiving yards with 35 catches and two touchdowns.
In addition to Jordan, Harrison Bryant (senior, FAU) and Hunter Bryant (junior, University of Washington) were also selected as finalists.
Jordan had a standout game earlier this year against Virginia Tech, totaling a career-high 136 yards on seven receptions – one short of his career high. Jordan had a career-long reception of 51 yards against the Hokies and scored his second touchdown on the year.
Jordan, who has made nine starts this season, is the only Mackey Award finalist from the ACC. The Las Vegas native has compiled 782 receiving yards on 67 receptions with six touchdowns in 21 career games at The U.
The three finalists were determined by confidential balloting of the John Mackey Award Selection Committee. Given annually to the most outstanding collegiate tight end, the 2019 John Mackey Award recipient will be announced on December 11, 2019 and presented live on December 12, 2019 at The Home Depot College Football Awards Red Carpet Show: 6:00 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
