MBB to Open Charleston Classic against Missouri State

CORAL GABLES, Fla. ESPN Events announced Thursday afternoon the bracket for the 2019 Charleston Classic, set to take place Nov. 21, 22 and 24 at TD Arena in Charleston, S.C.

The University of Miami men’s basketball team will begin play against Missouri State at 11:30 a.m. on the opening day in the first game of the tournament.

The Hurricanes will face either Florida or St. Joseph’s in their second contest, before meeting Buffalo, UConn, Towson or Xavier in their final outing. The complete bracket is available HERE.

In each of its last two appearances at the Charleston Classic, 2009 and 2014, Miami claimed the tournament title. The Hurricanes are the lone team to win the event championship twice.

Featuring 12 games over the three days of competition, the teams play once per day, regardless of results. The two unbeaten teams will face off in a championship game Nov. 24 at 8:30 p.m. That matchup will be televised on ESPN for the first time, having aired on ESPN2 or ESPNU in previous years.

All-tournament tickets for the Charleston Classic are on sale now. Fans can purchase discounted early bird Premium Lower Chairback seats for $140 (regularly $150) or Lower Bleacher/Upper Level for $105 (regularly $120) through Aug. 9.
