Miami Golf Ranked No. 21 in WGCA Coaches Poll
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – For the fourth consecutive WGCA Coaches Poll, the University of Miami golf team cracks the country’s top-25 list at No. 21, as announced Friday by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association.
Miami is one of five ACC teams represented in the top 25 of this edition of the rankings, including third-ranked Duke, fifth-ranked Wake Forest, ninth-ranked Florida State and No. 17 Virginia. Meanwhile, Clemson is listed No. 27 with eight votes.
Following the conclusion of the ACC Championship, the Canes were selected to compete in the NCAA Cle Elum Regional May 6-8 at the Tumble Creek Golf Club in Cle Elum, Wash., hosted by the University of Washington.
The bid marked the program’s seventh straight NCAA Regional berth, as Miami will be seeking its third trip to the NCAA Championships in four years.
The Hurricanes earned the sixth seed in the regional and will face off against seven teams featured in the final WGCA Poll of the spring: USC (1), Arkansas (8), South Carolina (10), Northwestern (16), Washington (20), Oregon (23) and San Jose State (T27).
