UM Athletics Announces Department Promotions

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami Department of Athletics announced several staff promotions within the business and sales departments on Monday.
 
The Hurricanes promoted Josh Boone to Senior Associate AD/Administration; Matthew Smale to Associate AD/Business Operations; Julia Kincade to Associate Director for Business Operations, Budget & Reporting; Erin Hardiman to Associate Director for Business Operations, Revenue; Karai Lockley to Associate Director for Business Operations, Purchasing; Dan Boyd to Associate AD/Sales & Service; and Holdyn Halperin to Assistant AD, Ticket Operations.
 
Boone was hired at UM in July 2012 as the Assistant AD for Business Operations, was elevated to Associate AD in March 2014 and then to Senior Associate AD in August 2017. In his new role, he handles oversight and leadership to all areas of sport administration, development of the departmental strategic plan, tracking and reporting of gender equity and management of the team travel, equipment and video services departments.
 
Smale joined the university in July 2018 and now assumes day-to-day oversight of the Business Operations department, including departmental budgeting, purchasing, reimbursements and financial reporting.
 
Kincade started at UM in April 2015 and is now responsible for providing financial support to the department by creating sport and administrative budgets, distributing monthly budget reports and collaborating with the university’s budget office. She also will assist in the creation of the department’s annual and five-year budgets.
 
Hardiman rejoined the department in March 2016. She is now responsible for recording, reporting and projecting the department’s annual revenue, including ticket sales, donations, corporate sponsorships and conference distributions. She also will complete the Hard Rock Stadium settlement, oversee ticket inventory audits and report the department’s sales tax.
 
Lockley has worked at UM since January 2015. She will oversee and manage all aspects of the athletics department’s procurement activities, including purchase requisitions, invoice payments and inventory. Through this role, she also will identify and implement cost savings to improve the use of the department’s resources.
 
Boyd joined the department in April 2017 and now will lead the department’s season ticket, premium sales, group sales and associated client experience departments.
 
Halperin came to the department in September 2018. In his new role, Halperin will oversee all ticket operations for the department’s four ticketed sports.
