No. 19 Miami Returns to Action Monday
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The No. 19-ranked University of Miami golf team will wrap up the 2018-19 regular season with a trip to Argyle, Texas, on Monday and Tuesday, where it will compete in the Bruzzy Invitational.
This year’s event will take place at the par 72, 6,421-yard Lantana Golf Club. Live stats for the tournament will be made accessible HERE.
The invitational will consist of 54 holes over a two-day stretch, with the first two rounds set to be played Monday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Tuesday’s final round will also begin with a shotgun time of 8:30 a.m.
A quintet of Hurricanes—graduate student Claudia De Antonio, juniors Macarena Aguilera and Renate Grimstad, sophomore Kristyna Frydlova and freshman Anna Backman—will make the trip.
In their most recent tournament action, the Hurricanes tied for second against stiff competition at the Florida Gators Invitational, while a trio of Canes secured top-10 individual finishes. As a team, Miami finished with a score of three-over, 843, while Aguilera, Grimstad and Frydlova each finished two-over-par to tie for ninth on the individual leaderboard.
Beginning Monday, the Hurricanes are set to square off against another strong tournament field, including a pair of teams listed in the top 20 on golfstat.com and an entire field ranked in the top 100.
The full list includes No. 35 Baylor, No. 84 BYU, No. 28 Houston, No. 37 Iowa, No. 87 Kansas State, No. 52 Maryland, No. 66 Missouri, No. 41 Ole Miss, No. 60 SMU, No. 20 TCU, No. 2 Texas, No. 53 Texas A&M, No. 43 Texas Tech and tournament host No. 85 North Texas.
Following the conclusion of the Bruzzy Invitational, Miami will take a 16-day hiatus from tournament play before teeing off at the ACC Championships in Greensboro, N.C., April 18-20.
