Miami Opens ACC Play Friday Against Georgia Tech
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s tennis team is set to open ACC action Friday afternoon against Georgia Tech.
No. 35 Miami (6-3) will welcome Georgia Tech to the Neil Schiff Tennis Center at 2 p.m. The match will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra and viewable HERE, while live stats will be accessible HERE.
The Hurricanes sport a 35-12 all-time record in their series with the Yellow Jackets, which dates back to 1947. However, Georgia Tech enters the contest riding a four-match winning streak in the series, most recently edging Miami, 4-3, in Atlanta on March 2, 2018. In the nail-biter, the Hurricanes picked up wins at the No. 2 and 3 singles position by sophomores Adria Soriano Barrera and Bojan Jankulovski, respectively, while graduate Christian Langmo collected the third point for Miami at the top position.
Entering the weekend, the same pair of sophomores represent Miami in the ITA national singles rankings, as Soriano Barrera comes in at No. 24 and Jankulovski sits at No. 75.
The Yellow Jackets, currently 5-3 on the year, also have a pair of ranked singles players, with Carlos Divar at No. 36 and Cole Gromley at No. 106. Neither team has any ranked doubles duos.
Following its matchup with Georgia Tech, Miami will play host to Clemson Sunday at 10 a.m.
