This weekend’s meet will showcase nine Top 25 women’s teams and five Top 25 men’s teams. The Miami women are currently ranked No. 26.

Friday’s events are scheduled to start with the women’s 60m hurdles qualifier at noon followed by the men. The 60m dash will immediately follow the hurdles, while the women’s long jump will kick off the field events at 1:30.

The women’s shot put and the men’s distance medley relay will close day one of the meet. Saturday is scheduled to start with the men’s weight throw at 9:30 a.m. and conclude with the men’s 4x400m relay at 3 p.m.

After an impressive finish in the 60m dash last weekend, both sophomore Symone Mason and junior Alfreda Steele will compete again in a field of 47. The top finishers in each heat plus the next 10 best times will move on to the preliminaries. On the men’s side, freshman Chauncy Smart will look to improve on last week’s second place finish in the same event alongside senior Isaiah Taylor in the men’s 60m.

Both Matthew Wiefels and Anne den Otter will represent the Canes in the one mile, while Samantha Gonzalez and Anna Runia will compete in the women’s 400m scheduled for 4:50 p.m.

After boasting the nation’s 12thbest 60m hurdles time last weekend at Virginia Tech, sophomore Tiara McMinn will compete in the prelims against four ACC opponents, including teammate Michelle Atherley.

Both freshman Hannah-Sophia Hall and sophomore Debbie Ajagbe registered personal best marks in the shot put and the weight throw, respectively, in last weekend’s meet.  The duo will both compete in the women’s shot put on Friday at 4:30 and the weight throw on Saturday.

Miami will be off next weekend before returning to Blacksburg, Va., on Feb. 21 – 23 for the ACC Indoor Championships.
