CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s basketball team finishes a busy stretch of six games in 13 days on Tuesday when it travels to Penn for a 7 p.m. game at The Palestra in Philadelphia.

Things To Know
• Miami is averaging 78.5 ppg this season, while Penn is scoring at a 78.4 ppg clip.
• Miami is the only ACC team with five players averaging in double-figure scoring.
• Opponents are shooting 27.3 percent from 3-point range (third lowest in ACC).
• Miami’s last four games each have been determined by four or fewer points.
• Ebuka Izundu has scored 10 or more points in all but one game and ranks fourth in the ACC in rebounding at 9.0 per game.
• Chris Lykes is eighth in the ACC in scoring (17.0).
• UM last played at The Palestra on Dec. 22, 2015, a 95-49 win over La Salle.
• Junior forward Dewan Hernandez has been withheld from competition thus far as the University and NCAA review his eligibility.
 
Miami is in the midst of a three-game losing streak, with each defeat coming by four points or fewer. It marks the first time UM has dropped three straight games, each by four or fewer points, since Jan. 19-30, 2011, when the Canes lost four straight such games. The Canes dropped a 77-73 decision to Yale on Saturday night at AmericanAirlines Arena in downtown Miami. Izundu led UM with 19 points and nine rebounds.
 
In addition to Lykes at 17.0 ppg, DJ Vasiljevic (13.5), Zach Johnson (13.3), Anthony Lawrence II (13.1) and Izundu (11.4) also are averaging in double figures.
 
At 6-2, Penn is off to its best start since 2001-02. The Quakers last played on Nov. 27, scoring a 76-48 win at Delaware State. Devon Goodman leads the team in scoring at 15.3 ppg. AJ Brodeur has recorded double-doubles in each of the last two games and is averaging 11.9 ppg and 7.4 rpg. The Quakers are averaging 78.4 ppg and allowing 66.0 ppg.
 
Miami leads the series with Penn, 6-3. This is UM’s first road game against the Quakers. Eight of the previous nine meetings came on Miami’s home floor. In the last matchup on Nov. 19, 2016, Miami scored a 74-62 home win over Penn in Coral Gables. Jim Larrañaga is 1-0 in his head coaching career against Penn and is 10-0 all-time against Penn head coach Steve Donahue, including an 8-0 mark when Donahue was at Boston College.
 
UM is 21-10 all-time against Ivy League programs. This is the first time Miami has played consecutive games against Ivy League schools since 1967 when the Canes played Brown (Dec. 19) and Dartmouth (Dec. 27).
 
Following the Penn game, Miami has a 15-day break as it enters its final exams period. The Canes return to action on Dec. 19 with a home game against Houston Baptist.
