Duke Bonk Invitational Canceled

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Duke Bonk Invitational this weekend in Cary, N.C., has been canceled due to Hurricane Florence.

This is the second consecutive year Miami was scheduled to begin the fall season at the Duke Bonk Invitational, yet was unable to do so because of a hurricane; in 2017, Hurricane Irma prevented the team from taking part in the event.

With the tournament canceled, most of the Hurricanes will now open the fall campaign on their home courts at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center Sept. 21-23. Junior Estela Perez-Somarriba, ranked third nationally, will begin competition Sept. 20-23 at Oracle ITA Masters in Malibu, Calif.
