Yaroshuk-Tews Announces Fall W. Tennis Slate

CORAL GABLES, Fla. University of Miami head women’s tennis coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews revealed Thursday the team’s schedule for the upcoming fall season.

The Hurricanes are set to compete in eight collegiate tournaments, including two at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.

“The fall provides a great thermostat in terms of where we are as a program,” Yaroshuk-Tews said. “It’s highly competitive, but a lot of fun at the same time. We will be splitting up a lot as a unit in order to gain the best competition for each lady. As always, I’m excited to get going.”

Miami will open the fall in Cary, N.C., at the Duke Bonk Invitational, held Sept. 14-16. The following weekend, members of the team will be at two different events.

One group of Hurricanes will stay home for the Miami Fall Invite Sept. 21-23, while another will travel to Malibu, Calif., for the prestigious Oracle ITA Masters Sept. 20-23.

To cap September and open October, Miami will have players at the Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships. Pre-qualifying is Sept. 29-30 in Malibu, with qualifying and main draw action Oct. 2-7 in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

Miami then returns back to Coral Gables, where it will host its second tournament of the fall, the Bedford Cup, Oct. 12-14.

The next weekend, the Hurricanes will hit the road for the ITA Southeast Regional Championships in Atlanta Oct. 18-22. After that, Miami trips to Auburn, Ala., for the Marliss Gruver Fall Invitational Oct. 26-28.

The last tournament of the fall for Miami is the elite Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, set for Nov. 7-11 in Surprise, Ariz.

Along with those collegiate events, Miami will also have select players compete as amateurs in various ITF tournaments in the fall.
