Weber Named to 2018 All-ACC Team
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Junior Dewi Weber of the University of Miami golf team was selected to the 2018 All-ACC Women’s Golf Team, as announced Friday by the conference office. The 15-member team was determined by vote of the conference’s head coaches.
A native of Groningen, Netherlands, Weber is the second golfer in program history to earn All-ACC honors in multiple seasons, joining Daniela Darquea, who earned the distinction three straight years from 2014-16.
Weber holds a 71.85 stroke average this season, which currently is the lowest single-season stroke average in program history. She ranks fifth among all ACC players this season in stroke average. She has finished in the top 20 in all nine tournaments in which she has competed, including four top-five finishes. Weber is tied for the ACC lead in top-five finishes this year.
Thirteen of Weber’s 26 rounds this season have been at or below par, and she has been the team’s top finisher in eight of the Hurricanes’ nine tournaments.
Miami returns to action next week as it competes in the NCAA Austin Regional. The 54-hole regional runs May 7-9 at the University of Texas Golf Club in Austin, Texas. Making their sixth straight trip to an NCAA Regional, the Canes are attempting to advance to the NCAA Championships for the third straight year and the 26th time in program history.
