No. 46 Men's Tennis Clashes with No. 38 Louisville Sunday
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s tennis team will wrap up its four-match homestand Sunday when it takes on No. 38 Louisville in a top-50 matchup at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.

THE SERIES
The series between the 46th-ranked Hurricanes (10-7, 1-4 ACC) and Louisville dates back to 1990, with the teams splitting four matches Miami took the inaugural meeting, 8-1, 38 years ago, but the Cardinals have won two of the three matches since joining the ACC.
The only meeting in Coral Gables to date took place on April 10, 2016, when the then-No. 75 Canes won convincingly, 5-2.
HIGHLIGHTING MIAMI’S 2018 SEASON
-Last Sunday, Miami won its first Atlantic Coast Conference contest of the season by upsetting No. 23 NC State, 4-3, for the Hurricanes’ first top-25 victory since March 21, 2014.
-The Canes returned to the Oracle/ITA rankings this week, checking in at No. 46, matching the team’s highest rankings since April 8, 2014.
-On March 18, senior Christian Langmo and freshman Adria Soriano defeated No. 11 Eero Vasa and Korey Lovett of UCF in their doubles debut to check in at No. 50 in the Oracle/ITA rankings.
-Langmo, who holds an 11-4 record, ascended nine spots to check in at No. 90 in the Oracle/ITA rankings this week, the highest by a Miami player this season. Freshmen Soriano (No. 99) and Bojan Jankulovski (No. 101) have also been ranked in singles play this season.
-Miami freshmen have captured 31 singles wins this spring. Freshman Bojan Jankulovski leads the team this spring, bolstering a 13-4 singles record. He has team-best four singles wins in ACC play.
-Miami’s 6-2 start to the season was the Hurricanes’ best start since 2013.
-The Hurricanes, who are 9-1 at home, have already surpassed the number of home-court victories in each of the past three seasons. They still have four home matches remaining on the 2018 schedule.
-Earlier this spring Miami posted a seven-match win streak in Coral Gables for the first time since 2014, a year the Hurricanes finished with a 12-5 home record.
LAST TIME OUT
Miami began the weekend with a 4-1 win against South Alabama Friday evening. Jankulovski, Soriano and fellow freshman Tatsuki Shimamoto recorded singles victories, respectively, to seal the match after the Canes clinched the doubles point with two impressive comebacks.
Soriano became the first player to defeat the Jaguars’ Loic Cloes (16-1) this season with a 7-6 (8-6), 7-5 victory on main court.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Louisville (14-5, 4-2 ACC) sits fifth in the ACC standings, as one of four teams with four victories. A 6-1 loss to Florida State snapped a five-match win streak for the Cardinals, who are 3-2 in true road matches this season.
Parker Wynn is Louisville’s only ranked singles player, checking in at No. 98 in the Oracle/ITA rankings. He teams up with Christoper Morin-Kougoucheff for the No. 14 doubles tandem in the nation.
UP NEXT
Next weekend, the Canes will make a trip to Virginia to take on No. 37 University of Virginia and Virginia Tech in their first ACC road matches since March 4.
