Langmo Tabbed No. 99 in ITA/Oracle Rankings
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Senior Christian Langmo became the third University of Miami men’s tennis player to find a spot in the Oracle/ITA national rankings, checking in at No. 99 in the latest edition.
Langmo matched freshman Adria Soriano’s achievement from last month. Another rookie, Bojan Jankulovski, has also been ranked this season, No. 101 on Feb. 7.
The Boca Raton, Fla., native has been dominant at the No. 1 position for the Hurricanes (6-4, 0-2 ACC), holding a 7-2 record at the top of the lineup, riding a seven-match singles win streak.
On Sunday Langmo earned his first ranked victory of the spring, defeating No. 64 Alex Favrot of No. 50 Clemson, 7-5, 6-4, at the top of the lineup.
The senior also plays a part in the Canes’ leading tandem, teaming up with redshirt sophomore Dane Dunlap for a 7-1 record this season – more than half of Miami’s 13 doubles victories this spring. The Hurricanes’ No. 3 duo has won its last seven matches.
Miami continues Atlantic Coast Conference play this Friday, facing Florida State in Orlando, Fla. The Hurricanes then return to Coral Gables for a Sunday doubleheader, hosting William and Mary (11 a.m.) and Cleveland State (4 p.m.) at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
