Quick Hits with Bridget Wallenberger

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Quick Hits gives University of Miami volleyball fans an opportunity to get to know the student-athletes on the Hurricanes’ roster.

Last week, Canes fans got their first look at early enrollee Taylor Burrell. The latest edition of Quick Hits introduces middle blocker Bridget Wallenberger, who comes to Miami after playing two impressive seasons at Wisconsin-Milwaukee. While at Milwaukee, she was a two-time All-Horizon League First Team selection and was named the 2016 Horizon League Freshman of the Year.

Q: Why did you decide to attend the University of Miami?
A: I wanted to transfer because I wanted to play for a more competitive program and pursue nursing.

Q: What has your time at Miami been like so far?
A: It has been awesome! The girls are super welcoming and the coaches helped me get acclimated to the school and the volleyball program.

Q: What has been your favorite part of being a Hurricane?
A: Being a part of a competitive volleyball program and a strong academic school.

Q: Has anyone taken you under their wing, shown you around and helped with your transition to college? If so, who, and how have they helped you adjust?
A: All the girls have been very helpful, whether it be checking in on me, showing me where my classes are or getting food together.

Q: What has been the biggest adjustment for you since you arrived?
A: Figuring out where my classes are

Q: Are there any classes you are taking so far that you like?
A: Nursing Growth and Development

A: I want to help people

Q: What are you most excited for about being in college?
A: Meeting new people

A: Go to the beach
