CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The No. 25 Miami men’s basketball team plays host to Wake Forest at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Watsco Center. ESPN2 has the television broadcast, while the game also streams online through the WatchESPN app. WQAM 560-AM has the local radio broadcast, while WMYM 990-AM ESPN Deportes is airing the game in Spanish.

Back in the top 25 this week, the Hurricanes (17-5) have won four of their last five games, including an 84-75 triumph at Virginia Tech Saturday afternoon. Anthony Lawrence II registered career highs in points (25) and rebounds (13) as he recorded his second straight double-double. Lonnie Walker IV added 14 points, eight of which came in the game’s final 3:08 after the Hokies had closed to within three points.
Walker was named the ACC’s Co-Rookie of the Week for the second straight week after averaging 15.0 points per game last week. He is averaging 17.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists in the last seven games, scoring in double figures in each of those contests.
Miami is averaging 82.2 points per game in its last five games and 75.3 for the season. Its opponents have averaged 65.7 points per game this season. Dewan Huell leads the Hurricanes in scoring at 12.9 points per game, while Walker is averaging 11.2. Lawrence has totaled 9.8 points and 6.9 rebounds per game this season, including 12.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per game in ACC play.
Wake Forest (9-13, 2-9) split a pair of home games last week, downing Florida State, 76-72, last Wednesday before falling to No. 17 Clemson, 75-67, Saturday. The Demon Deacons average 74.1 points per game while allowing 74.7 per game. Bryant Crawford leads the team and ranks seventh in the ACC in scoring at 16.0 points per game. Keyshawn Woods is averaging 13.1 points per game, while big man Doral Moore is averaging 10.3 points and a team-high 9.3 rebounds and 2.1 per game.
Wake Forest holds an 11-8 edge in the all-time series with Miami, including a 9-8 mark since UM entered the ACC. In the last six meetings, the teams have alternated wins, including Wake’s 96-79 triumph on Jan. 18, 2017, in Winston-Salem, N.C., in the last edition of the series. Miami is 6-2 at the Watsco Center against Wake.
Miami heads to Boston College Saturday for a 2 p.m. game in Chestnut Hill, Mass. The ACC’s Regional Sports Networks, including FOX Sports Florida and FOX Sports South in South Florida, have the broadcast.
