CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami head women’s tennis coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews announced Monday the team’s schedule for the upcoming 2018 spring season.
The team will host nine days of competition at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center, beginning with the Miami Spring Invite Jan. 19-21.
“As always, we are excited for an extremely competitive schedule,” Miami head coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews said. “Much of our season will be determined by our start, so it needs to be strong.”
Joining the Hurricanes in the aforementioned season-opening Miami Spring Invite are Ohio State, Vanderbilt and Kentucky. Those teams finished the 2017 campaign ranked third, fourth and No. 18 in the national rankings, with the former two making the NCAA Final Four.
Miami begins dual match play Jan. 27-28 in Auburn, Ala., for ITA Kick-Off Weekend. The Hurricanes face UC Santa Barbara at noon on the first day and then either Auburn, No. 14 last year, or Tulane on day two.

Miami opens conference play with a home doubleheader on March 2. It faces Pitt at 10 a.m., and then takes on Florida Atlantic in a non-conference match at 5 p.m.
The Hurricanes play a road match at Clemson (March 4, time TBD), before heading to Orlando, Fla., for a neutral site doubleheader. Miami meets Longwood at 8 a.m., and Florida State at 6 p.m., at the USTA National Campus.
Miami then plays at Georgia Tech (March 14, time TBD), before returning home to host North Carolina (March 16, 4 p.m.) and NC State (March 18, 11 a.m.). The Yellow Jackets, Tar Heels and Wolfpack concluded last season ranked ninth, fifth and No. 26, respectively.
The Hurricanes hit the road for three straight road matches against Virginia (March 23, 3 p.m.), Duke (March 25, noon) and Wake Forest (March 31, time TBD).
