Fisher Earns U.S. U-19 National Team Camp Invite
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Kristina Fisher of the University of Miami soccer team has been tabbed to take part in U.S. U-19 Women’s National Team training camp this month, as announced Monday by U.S. Soccer.
Taking place May 13-20 in Carson, Calif., the camp features 24 players and Fisher is among the six midfielders on the roster. She is joined by three fellow ACC standouts on the list.
For Fisher, a rising sophomore, this will be her second U.S. Youth National Team camp in 2017, as she previously participated in U-23 camp April 2-8 in Orlando, Fla.
Held at the U.S. Soccer National Team Training Center, the camp will include a matchup against the Japan U-20 Women’s National Team May 19 at 8 p.m. ET.
A native of Jupiter, Fla., Fisher had one of the most productive freshman seasons in Miami history in 2016. A member of both the ACC All-Freshman Team and the All-ACC Academic Team, Fisher also earned NSCAA College Player of the Week honors after the first weekend of her career.
Top Drawer Soccer tabbed Fisher as the No. 47 freshman in the nation last season after a campaign in which she finished top-10 in the ACC in five categories. She logged seven goals, six assists and 20 points in her opening season at the collegiate level.
