MIAMI TO TAKE ON FIU IN HOME-AND-HOME

• The Miami Hurricanes will take on crosstown foe FIU April 25 in Miami, Fla., and April 26 in Coral Gables, Fla., in the final regular season games between the two teams.

• The Hurricanes lead the all-time series by a commanding 92-26 margin, but dropped a home-and-home with the Panthers earlier this season, falling 12-1 on March 7 at Mark Light Field and 3-2 at FIU Ballpark on March 8.

• Freshman RHP Evan McKendry (3-1, 3.82 ERA) will oppose FIU’s Robert Garcia (4-4, 3.83) in the opener Tuesday at FIU Ballpark.

WEEKEND REWIND: MIAMI SPLITS SERIES WITH FLORIDA STATE

• The Hurricanes split their annual rivalry series with visiting Florida State this past weekend, dropping Game 1 (6-3) but winning Game 2 (5-4) in extra innings. Game 3 was cancelled due to inclement weather.

• Miami took the lead in the series opener, but the Seminoles plated four runs in the fifth inning and held on for the victory. Sophomore Romy Gonzalez homered in the defeat.

• Junior Michael Burns hit a grand slam as Miami erased an early 3-0 deficit to take a 5-4 win in extra innings in Game 2. A walk-off throwing error by Florida State shortstop Taylor Walls in the bottom of the 10th inning proved the difference.

MIAMI IS #MLBU

•  No school in the ACC has had more players drafted than Miami, which has seen 280 players picked into the professional ranks – including seven in 2016. Since the 1990 season, Miami has produced 179 draft picks – 25 more than the next-highest total (154, Clemson).

ONE OF THE GAME’S TOP SKIPPERS

•  Jim Morris’ 1,554 wins at the Division I level are fifth-most in the history of college baseball and third-most among active skippers.

•  Morris reached two major milestones in 2016 – he  became the fifth coach to reach 1,500 wins on March 18 against Louisville and won his 1,000th game at Miami on March 26 vs. Clemson.

WELCOME TO THE LIGHT!

•  Miami has made College World Series trips in back-to-back seasons (2015 and 2016) thanks in large part to its dominant play inside the confines of Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field.

•  Since the start of the 2015 season, Miami is a whopping 83-18 in its last 101 home games. Miami finished 36-5 at home in 2015 and 34-6 at home in 2016. The Hurricanes went 13-2 in ACC play at The Light in 2015 and 12-3 at home in ACC play in 2016.
