Miami Hosts Virginia Tech in Season Finale
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s tennis team is set to play its final match of the regular season Sunday afternoon.
Miami will host Virginia Tech at noon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center. Seniors Max Andrews and Jesse Flores, along with junior Kevin Bondar will be recognized before the match
Sunday’s match will mark the 20th meeting between the Hurricanes and Hokies, with Va. Tech leading the all-time series, 11-8. Miami dropped its most recent matchup against then-No. 36 Virginia Tech, 4-0, on April 21, 2016.
Miami (8-12, 2-9 ACC) will enter the match with a trio of Canes represented in the ITA rankings as junior Piotr Lomacki checks in at No. 59 in singles, as announced Tuesday.
Joining Lomacki in the rankings for the third week in a row, Andrews and Flores form the nation’s No. 50 doubles tandem.
No. 106 Jai Corbett represents Virginia Tech (10-12, 4-7 ACC) in the singles rankings, while he teams up with Henrik Korsgaard to form the No. 49 duo in the nation.
