@CanesWTennis Travels to Louisville and Syracuse
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team is set to resume conference play this weekend with a pair of road matches.
No. 42 Miami faces Louisville Friday at 3 p.m., at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center in Louisville, Ky., and then heads to Syracuse, N.Y., for an 11 a.m., match Sunday morning against Syracuse at Drumlins Tennis Club.
This will mark the first time all season the Hurricanes play two matches in a weekend against a pair of teams that are both unranked.
Miami (5-9, 3-5 ACC) features two players in the ITA singles rankings, with junior Sinead Lohan at No. 14 and freshman Estela Perez-Somarriba at No. 42.
In doubles, Lohan combines with redshirt senior Maci Epstein to form the No. 61 duo on the ITA’s list.
The Hurricanes have played Louisville just twice before, with the matches coming in each of the past two year after the Cardinals joined the ACC. Miami is 2-0 and has a 13-1 edge in points after winning last season’s match, 7-0, at home on April 17, 2016.
Louisville enters Friday’s contest with a record of 13-7 (2-6 ACC) thus far. The Cardinals do not have any ranked singles players or doubles pairs.
