Four Canes Named Academic All-ACC
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Miami Hurricanes Braxton Berrios, Brad Kaaya, Nick Linder and Justin Vogel were among the 66-man 2016 All-ACC Academic Football team announced Wednesday by Commissioner John Swofford.
To be eligible for consideration for the team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his undergraduate and/or graduate academic career.
All 14 ACC schools were represented on the team. The ACC has selected an All-ACC Academic Football team every year since 1954. Nineteen members of the team have already received their undergraduate degrees.
The team was chosen from a pool of 143 ACC football student-athletes who were nominated by their schools.

On the field, the Florida native started the first eight games of the season at center before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury. Linder also helped guide the Hurricanes to three games with 500 yards-or-more of total offense.
Vogel earned a spot on the team after he recorded a 3.5 grade point average in health information. On the field, the Florida native served as the team’s starting punter for the third straight season and averaged a career-best 43.8 yards per punt en route to earning All-ACC Second Team honors.
