Canes #Squad17 Signing Day Class Earns High Praise

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Continuing the momentum from its 31-14 victory over nationally-ranked West Virginia in the 2016 Russell Athletic Bowl, the University Miami football team earned high praise for its #Squad17 Signing Day class.

Among the 24 players in this year’s signing day class, the Hurricanes hauled in 16 individuals from the state of Florida and 10 ESPN Top 300 honorees.

The Hurricanes drew strong reviews from several national recruiting outlets, as they ranked in the top 15 of the 247Sports (No. 13), ESPN (No. 12), Rivals (No. 11) and Scout (No. 13).

Miami also had a pair of its #Squad17 recruits recognized by 247Sports, as offensive lineman Navaughn Donaldson and safety Amari Carter were both named to the All-22 Impact Team.

Future Hurricane student-athletes were not the only individuals that were recognized following national signing day. Miami offensive line coach Stacy Searels was recognized as one the top 25 recruiters of 2017 by Rivals.com for his recruitment of five offensive linemen.
