@CanesWTennis Adds Feb. 11 Match at No. 18 Texas
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami head women’s tennis coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews announced Friday the addition of one match to the team’s 2017 slate.
On Feb. 11, No. 17 Miami (1-1) will now face off against No. 18 Texas (1-1) on the road in Austin, Texas, at noon ET.
The match against the Longhorns gives the Hurricanes five regular season non-conference matches, including three against schools from the Longhorn State. Of those five, three are against teams currently in the top 20 of the ITA rankings.
Miami currently has a trio of players in the ITA singles rankings, headlined by junior Sinead Lohan at No. 6 nationally. Redshirt senior Maci Epstein is No. 69 and freshman Estela Perez-Somarriba is No. 70. In doubles, Lohan and freshman Dominika Paterova form the No. 47 duo.
For Texas, Neda Koprcina is No. 55 singles, while Petra Granic and Dani Wagland check in at No. 34 in doubles.
The Hurricanes’ match against the Longhorns will be the next time they take the court for a match this season.
