Njoku to Enter the 2017 NFL Draft
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami redshirt sophomore tight end David Njoku announced today that he has decided to forego his final two seasons of eligibility and enter the 2017 NFL Draft.
Njoku’s decision came following the Hurricanes’ 31-14 victory over West Virginia in the 2016 Russell Athletic Bowl. In his final game as a Hurricane, the New Jersey native finished the game with five receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown.
The 2016 campaign was Njoku’s best as a Hurricane as he posted single season bests in receptions (43), receiving yards (698) and touchdowns (8) en route to earning ACC all-conference honors.
Njoku closed out his 2016 on a high note as he scored touchdowns in five of his final six games.
The 2017 NFL Draft will take place on April 27-29 in Philadelphia.
