TOP PERFORMERS
Greg Olsen (Carolina Panthers) – five catches, 39 yards
The season hasn’t gone as planned for last year’s NFC champion Carolina Panthers, who have a 3-6 record through their first nine games. Tight end Greg Olsen has done his part, however, and continued Sunday with five more receptions in a disappointing 20-17 loss to Kansas City. Olsen has totaled 50 receptions for 712 yards, and is on pace for his third straight 1,000-yard season with the Panthers. He had 39 yards Sunday, and has caught at least five passes in eight of nine games this season.
Anthony Chickillo (Pittsburgh Steelers) – four tackles, one sack, one forced fumble
Though it’s only his second season with Pittsburgh and first as a major contributor, linebacker Anthony Chickillo looks to have a very bright future in the Steel City. In Sunday’s thrilling 35-30 loss to Dallas, Chickillo made his presence felt early in the game for the Steelers’ defense. On Dallas’ first offensive series, Chickillo chased down Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and recorded a strip-sack. He has 10 tackles and 1.5 sacks in his last two games.
Lamar Miller (Houston Texans) – 15 carries, 83 rushing yards
Despite an injury that kept him out for the late stages of the first half, Houston running back Lamar Miller enjoyed a strong performance in Sunday’s 24-21 win over Jacksonville. Miller, who is in his first season with the Texans after four with his hometown Miami Dolphins, totaled 83 rushing yards on 15 carries in the victory. Miller has 720 rushing yards through nine games, and is on pace for career-best totals of 298 carries and 1,280 yards this season.
Artie Burns (Pittsburgh Steelers) – six tackles
Artie Burns made his second straight start at defensive back Sunday, and totaled six tackles in a 35-30 loss to Dallas. Burns, who was selected with the 25th overall pick by the Steelers in the 2016 NFL Draft, has 29 tackles so far this season, including 19 in his last four games. The six tackles set a career high for Burns, besting his previous total of five set in a return to Miami to play the Dolphins back on Oct. 16. His 29 tackles are the ninth-most on the team.
