Kaaya Selected to the Davey O'Brien 'Great 8' List for Week 10

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Junior quarterback Brad Kaaya was named to the Davey O’Brien “Great 8″ List for week 10. The eight honorees were determined by voting from the award’s selection subcommittee.

Kaaya received the weekly recognition for the first time this year after he guided the Hurricanes to a 51-28 win over Pittsburgh this past Saturday. The Los Angeles, Calif. native accounted for a career-high five touchdowns (four passing and one rushing). He also went 32-of-47 through the air for 356 yards.

With his 356 yards passing, Kaaya now has 8,776 career passing yards, which ranks him 17th on the all-time ACC career passing yardage list. His four passing touchdowns tied a career high. He now has 59 career touchdown passes. 

All FBS quarterbacks are eligible for the weekly honor. The winner of the Davey O’Brien Quarterback of the Week Award, will come from one of this week’s “Great 8” quarterbacks and will be announced Wednesday.
