2017 Spring Tennis Schedule
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s tennis team will host 15 matches this spring at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center, head coach Aljosa Piric announced Monday.
The spring season begins Jan. 20 and features nine non-conference matches, followed by 12 Atlantic Coast Conference matchups. Nine of Miami’s 12 ACC matchups are against opponents that finished the 2016 season in the ITA national rankings.
“Playing in the ACC, we will always have great competition, and we are excited about that. We have some great matches at home this year, ACC rivals Clemson, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech and, the national defending champion, Virginia. In addition, we have some great out of conference matches such as, a Southeastern Conference rival, Mississippi State.” Piric said. “We open up with 11 home matches and play 15 home matches in total. We are excited about that; playing in the heat should be and will be a home court advantage for our squad. We are excited to kick things off in a couple of months and see how we matchup against some of the best teams in the nation.“
Non-conference play begins with the Hurricanes hosting St. John’s (Jan. 20) and North Florida (Jan. 22) in Coral Gables.
