@CanesWTennis Travels to Wolverine Invitational
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team will compete in the Wolverine Invitational this weekend in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Hosted by Michigan, the event runs from Friday through Sunday and features players from Miami, Michigan, Princeton and Washington. All four teams finished 2015-16 in the top 55 of the ITA national rankings, including Miami at No. 10 and Michigan at No. 11.
This will be the fifth fall competition for the Hurricanes and the first to which all nine players make the trip.
Miami will begin play Friday morning at 10 a.m., by facing Washington in singles competition. The Hurricanes will then take on Michigan in doubles action at 1 p.m.
Saturday, head coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews’ team meets Princeton in singles at 10 a.m., and then squares off against Washington in doubles at 1 p.m.
Play will conclude Sunday and Miami is set to play Princeton in doubles at noon and then face Michigan in singles after that.
Michigan head coach Ronni Bernstein, née Reis, won the 1986 NCAA Doubles Championship as a player at Miami and is the lone eight-time ITA All-American in program history.
