#ProCanes Report - 9/26/16
Jimmy Graham (Seattle Seahawks) – six catches, 100 yards, 1 TD
When New Orleans traded Pro Bowl tight end Jimmy Graham to Seattle in the 2015 offseason, it appeared like a heist. After an injury-riddled first year, Graham is off to a strong start in 2016 – his second season with the Seahawks. Graham recorded his first 100-yard game Sunday against the 49ers in a 37-18 win. His performance included a 19-yard touchdown grab from Russell Wilson that pushed the Seahawks’ lead to 21-3 in the second quarter.
Frank Gore (Indianapolis Colts) – 21 carries, 82 yards, 1 TD
At 33 years old and now in his 12th NFL season, Frank Gore just won’t slow down. The five-time Pro Bowl running back had another impressive performance Sunday in a 26-22 win over San Diego. Gore is averaging 3.9 yards per rush through the first three games, and was key in securing Indianapolis’ first win of the season Sunday.
Denzel Perryman (San Diego Chargers) – 10 tackles, one sack
After a 2015 season that saw Denzel Perryman start nine games and total an impressive 73 tackles as a rookie, the San Diego Chargers’ second-round selection had proven he belonged. He exploded for a game-high 10 tackles – just one shy of his career –high – in Sunday’s 26-22 loss to Indianapolis. Considered one of the top young linebackers in the NFL, Perryman has started all three games this season and ranks second on the team with 18 tackles.
Lamar Miller (Houston Texans) – 107 total yards, 80 rushing yards
There weren’t many bright spots for Houston in a 27-0 loss to New England on Thursday night, but Lamar Miller’s tough running was one of them. Miller carried 21 times and grinded out 80 yards against the Patriots defense, and added four catches for 27 yards out of the backfield. Miller has already totaled 269 yards on 74 carries this season, and is on pace for a career high 1,435 yards in 2016. The fifth-year pro is off to a strong start after signing a four-year, $26 million deal with Houston this past offseason.
