@CanesFutbol to Face Miami (OH) at Cobb Stadium
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami soccer team returns to action Friday at 7 p.m., when it hosts Miami (OH).
The affair at Cobb Stadium between the Hurricanes and RedHawks will be the first time the two schools with Miami in their name meet on the soccer field.
The Hurricanes enter the contest at 3-1-0 on the season and have a program record 18 goals through their first four matches of a season. Fourth-year head coach Mary-Frances Monroe’s team has posted a trio of shutouts and conceded just two goals.
In addition, the Hurricanes lead Division I in goals (18), assists (20) and points (56), while freshman forward Kristina Fisher tops the nation’s individual points list with 15.
The RedHawks are 1-2-0 in 2016 and are coming off their first win of the year, a 3-2 triumph against Western Kentucky in double overtime. Last season, the RedHawks finished 11-8-2 (6-4-1 MAC) and reached the conference tournament championship game.
As is the case with all matches at Cobb Stadium, entry to Friday night’s game is free. The first 100 fans in attendance will receive a Miami water bottle and team posters will be available for all fans.
