@CanesFutbol Set for 15 Games on ACC Network Extra
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami soccer team will have 15 of its 18 regular season matches in 2016 broadcast on ACC Network Extra, as announced Thursday by the conference office.
All 11 of the Hurricanes’ home affairs at Cobb Stadium will be shown live through the new network, as will four of its road contests.
“We are really excited that we will have so much exposure this year with so many games on TV and being broadcast live,” Miami head soccer Mary-Frances Monroe said. “This allows our sport to continue to grow and gives others all over the country the chance to watch our games.”
Nine of Miami’s 10 conference games in 2016 will be televised. That includes an Oct. 6 showdown at 22-time national champion North Carolina, ranked ninth in the NSCAA preseason poll, that will be on RSN, too.
In addition to its 15 games on ACC Network Extra, Miami’s matchup at North Florida Friday will be shown on ASun.tv and its contest at Stetson Sunday will have live video, too. In all, 17 of the Hurricanes’ 18 regular season games will be broadcast live.
An ACC record 331 Olympic sporting events will be streamed live this fall by ACC Network Extra, a dedicated digital channel for ACC sports which makes its debut Friday, Aug. 19.
The events covered by ACC Network Extra will be immediately available to users who have access to WatchESPN and the ESPN app. More than 600 total Olympic sporting events – encompassing the fall, winter and spring seasons – will be carried exclusively by ACC Network Extra during the 2016-17 academic year.
The Hurricanes begin the regular season Friday at 7 p.m., at North Florida’s Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. Action will be shown on ASun.tv HERE and live stats for the match can be found HERE.
