@HurricanesGolf Remains Sixth at the NCAA Regional

BRYAN, Texas – The University of Miami women’s golf team held steady to its sixth-place position at the 2016 NCAA Regional Championship after it posted a second-round score of 288.

The top six teams from the NCAA Regional will advance to the NCAA Championship. Miami’s last appearance in the NCAA Championship was in 1992, when it placed 10th.

The Hurricanes enter final round competition with a two-round total of 578 and sit just 11 strokes behind tournament leader Arizona (567).

The tournament, hosted by Texas A&M, is being held at the Traditions Club, par-72, 6,373-yard course.

Freshman Dewi Weber led the way for the Hurricanes on day two, as she carded a three-under-par, 69, and is now tied for sixth with a two-round total of 139. Weber got off to a hot start to her second round, as she tallied four birdies on the front nine. She then closed her round by posting pars on eight of the final nine holes.

Junior Daniela Darquea also remained in the top 10, as she posted a second-round score of 73. She enters final play with a two-round total of 141 and is tied for ninth.

Fellow junior Delfina Acosta moved up seven spots is tied for 39th following a second round score of 72. She currently owns a two-round score of 147.

Miami returns to the course tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. EST.
