No. 67 UM to Take On Georgia Tech & Clemson

CORAL GABLES, Fla.  This weekend the No. 67 University of Miami men’s tennis team will head to Atlanta, and Clemson, S.C., to take on ACC rivals No. 31 Georgia Tech and Clemson. The Canes will take on the Yellow Jackets on Friday, April1 at 5 p.m. and the Tigers on Sunday, April 3 at 11 a.m..

The Canes come off of a loss at home against No. 6 Wake Forest, 7-0. Miami is now 7-9 for the spring campaign and 2-4 in ACC play. Miami has returned to the ITA rankings, coming in at No. 67. Sophomore Piotr Lomacki stays among the top 50, ranked at No. 38 for this weekend’s matchup.

The Canes hold an all-time record of 35-9 against the Yellow Jackets. No. 31 Georgia Tech has a spring record of 12-5 and is now 2-5 when playing against ACC teams.

The Yellow Jackets recently downed No. 51 Notre Dame, 5-2. The Jackets hold an impressive home court record of 7-0. Georgia Tech claims one ranked singles player, No. 11 Christopher Eubanks, who holds a record of 9-5 vs. ranked opponents. At doubles the Yellow Jackets claim brothers Michael Kay and Casey Kay at No. 54.

After squaring off against Georgia Tech, Miami will head to South Carolina to take on the Clemson Tigers. The Canes hold an even 25-25 overall record against the Tigers. After a 4-3 loss against No. 42 NC State, Clemson is now 11-11 overall and 2-5 in the ACC.
