McClellan Named to ACC All-Tournament Team
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami guard Sheldon McClellan was named to the 2016 Atlantic Coast Conference All-Tournament Second Team, the league announced following the event.
In two games in the ACC Tournament, McClellan averaged 18.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.5 assists in 36.5 minutes played. He knocked down 56.5 percent of his shots from the field, 42.9 percent from three and 77.8 percent at the line.
In the win over Virginia Tech, he notched 21 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals. He was 3-of-6 from long range against the Hokies, and 8-of-12 from the field. The next night, he had 15 points, two rebounds and two steals, knocking down 4-of-5 attempts from the field and shot a perfect 5-of-5 at the line in the loss to No. 3 Virginia.
McClellan and the Canes ended the ACC regular season in a tie for second in the league, then went 1-1 in the ACC Tournament. Miami will next face Buffalo on Thursday at 6:50 p.m. in Providence, R.I., in the NCAA Tournament. The game will be broadcast on TNT.
