Hurricanes Tied For 13th at UCF Challenge
ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s golf team is tied for 13th at the UCF Challenge after it posted a score of 296 in the second round of play on Monday.
The Hurricanes’ second round score of 296 was a 14-shot improvement from their opening round of 310.
Miami owns a two-round total of 606 as it heads into the final day of competition. The three-day event is being held at the par 72, 6,349-yard Eagle Creek Golf Club.
Freshman Dewi Weber led the Canes as she carded a one-under-par score of 71. Weber posted three birdies and one eagle in the second round. Her first birdie came on the front nine with the final two birdies coming on the back nine. Her lone eagle of the day also came on the back nine. Weber is tied for 19th with a two-round tally of 148, heading into the final round of play.
Freshman Luiza Altmann also moved up in the rankings to 41st after posting a 74 in the second round. She currently holds a two-round score of 152.
Senior Kailey Walsh posted a pair of birdies on the back nine en route to a second round score of 76. Through two rounds, Walsh owns a score of 153.
Missouri owns the team lead with a score of 584.
Missouri’s Michelle Butler and East Carolina’s F. Gustafsson Spang are currently tied for the individual lead with a score of 141.
