Badgley Named ACC Specialist of the Week
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Sophomore kicker Michael Badgley was named ACC Specialist of the Week following the Miami football team’s 29-24 win over Pittsburgh last Friday on the road.
Badgley earned the weekly honor after he scored 17 points in Miami’s win over the Panthers. He tied his own school record with five field goals made, connecting from 33, 48, 23, 45 and 29 yards out.
In 2015, Badgley has connected on seven field goals in-between 40-49 yards out. He also is a perfect 12-for-12 in field goals in-between 40-49 yards out for his career.
He also connected on two extra points and moved to a perfect 38-of-38 in extra points this season.
In addition, Badgley finished the regular season with a school record 25 made field goals this year.
Badgley is the fifth Miami player this season to earn an ACC weekly honor. He also is the second Miami player to earn ACC Specialist of the Week honors this season (Corn Elder – Nov. 2).
The Hurricanes finished the regular season with an 8-4 overall record and a 5-3 mark in the ACC. Miami is awaiting a bowl selection.
