@CanesBaseball Opens Fall Practice at The Light
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami baseball team will open fall practice at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field on Monday, Oct. 19.
Practices will be held Monday through Saturday through the fall, and are scheduled to conclude on Friday, Nov. 20 with the team’s annual Scout Day.
Practices Monday through Friday will begin at 3 p.m. (team stretch at 2:30 p.m.), while Saturday practices are slated to begin at 10 a.m. (9:30 a.m. stretch). The team will not practice on Sundays in the fall.
Miami returns a number of key contributors from its 2015 College World Series team, including All-American slugger Zack Collins, All-ACC outfielder Willie Abreu, lefthander and second-team All-ACC selection Thomas Woodrey, All-CWS outfielder Jacob Heyward and All-ACC closer Bryan Garcia.
The Orange & Green World Series, an annual intrasquad tradition, is currently scheduled for the last two weeks of fall ball, with game dates tentatively set for Nov. 12, Nov. 13 and Nov. 14. Game times are Nov. 12 at 4:30 p.m., Nov. 13 at 6:30 p.m. and Nov. 14 at 10 a.m.
