@HurricanesGolf Remains In Fifth at Jim West Challenge
TOERNE, Texas – The University of Miami women’s golf team remains in fifth place at the 2015 Jim West Challenge after it posted a one-over-par team score of 289 in the second round.
Miami owns a two-round total of 581 as it heads into the final day of competition. The three-day event is being held at the par 72, 6,373-yard Tapatio Spring Golf Resort.
Junior Daniela Darquea and freshman Dewi Weber remain in the top 10 after two rounds of play.
Darquea fired a second round score of even par 72 and is in ninth place (142), while Weber shot a two-over-par 74 and is tied for 10th (143).
Junior Delfina Acosta cracked into the top 20 after she carded a second round score of even par. Acosta is tied for 19th with a two-round total of 146.
Senior Kailey Walsh posted the lowest second round total on the team as she carded a one-under-par round of 71 – a 10 shot improvement from her opening round 81. She is tied for 48th (146), heading into the final round.
Kent State leads all teams with a 10-under-par score of 566. Texas Tech’s Gabby Barker leads all individuals with a two-round total of 137.
Final round action begins Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. EST.
