Five Questions

Q: What has been your favorite part of being a Hurricane?

A: Being able to be a part of such a diverse community.

Q: What are you most excited for about being in college?

A: Meeting new people that I’ll be friends with for a lifetime.

Q: How does running in college differ from running in high school?

A: I run way more mileage than I did in high school, but that is what is making me better.

Q: What did your weekly mileage get up to at the high point?

A: 70 miles

Q: Tell me how you got started in the sport and whether you excelled right away or if it was a more gradual process of getting to a high level?

A: I decided in 7th grade to join the Cross Country team and let’s just say I wasn’t very good.  It took years of hard work and dedication and gradually getting better to get where I am today.

Q: What are you working on this fall to be able to better for at the ACC Championships?

A: I am working on always listening to what Coach Griffiths tells me because I know that will lead me to success.

Q: What was  the biggest adjustment for you since your freshmen year?

A: Getting adjusted to tougher practices and getting adjusted to college life in general.

Q: Do you prefer a tactical race, or do you like a race that’s fast from the gun?

A: I prefer an honest race where it’s fast from the start of it.

Q: Do you have a favorite workout during cross country, one that you think is especially beneficial?

A: Mile repeats

Q: How about track versus cross country? Do you prefer one over the other, and is cross country primarily preparation for track?

A: I used to always love Cross Country over track because I found it way better to run in trails than run around an oval over and over and frankly I was just better at it.  However, I have slowly started to favor track with the more speed I get.  I still love Cross Country though and set goals for it and give it my all every day.
