@HurricanesGolf Opens Fall Play on Monday
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The No. 36-ranked University of Miami women’s golf team opens the fall portion of its 2015-16 schedule Monday morning at the 37th annual 2015 Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M.
The 54-hole event will be held at the par 73, 6,315-yard UNM Championship Course.

THE COURSE
UNM’s Championship Course opened in 1967. It has been nationally recognized by Golf Digest Magazine as one of the top-25 public courses in the country. Most recently, Golfweek Magazine named The Championship Course the No. 19 collegiate course in the nation. In January of 1991, Golfweek Magazine rated The Championship Course the No. 1 course to play in New Mexico. In 1998, Golfweek tabbed the Championship Course the No. 2 collegiate course in the West, behind the Stanford University Golf Course in Palo Alto, Calif.
The Championship Course was the site of the 1976 and 1992 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships as well as the 1998 NCAA Championships. In 1987 and 2008, the course was the sight of the women’s NCAA tourney.

Daniela Darquea

Delfina Acosta
-Owns a 74.74 scoring average in 31 rounds last season.
-Competed in all 31 rounds a year ago.
-Posted three top 10 finishes.
Dewi Weber
-Will makes her collegiate debut on Monday.
-Played on the 2013 and 2014 European Ladies’ Amateur Championship.
Christina Ocampo
-Saw action in eight rounds during the 2014-15 campaign.
-Competed in all three tournaments during the fall portion of the 2014-15 season.
-Did not play last spring.
Laura Hendee
-Competed as an individual during the East & West Match Play Challenge.
-Did not play last spring.
RECAPPING LAST SEASON
-The University of Miami women’s golf team earned the No. 8 seed in the NCAA Regional.
-Four Miami women’s golf student-athletes were selected to the 2015 All-ACC Academic Team.
-Miami’s bid to the St. George Regional Site marked the third straight year the Hurricanes received a bid to the NCAA Championships.
-The Hurricanes posted seven top five finishes last season.
-Three of Miami’s top five golfers combined for 226 birdies last season. Sophomore Daniela Darquea posted a team-best 90 birdies.
