UM Inks Quarterman to Grant-In-Aid Agreement

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami football program signed rising senior linebacker Shaquille Quarterman to a grant-in-aid agreement on Saturday.

Quarterman, who is listed at 6 foot, 1 inch and 230 pounds, is a three-time MaxPreps All-American. He also is rated as the No. 2 inside linebacker and the No. 98 ranked overall player in the ESPN 300 rankings.

Quarterman, who hails from Orange Park, Fla., enters his senior season at Oakleaf High School after he posted a remarkable junior campaign where he tallied 137 tackles, eight tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble.

Following his junior campaign, he was selected First Team 7A All State.

Quarterman’s sophomore and freshman seasons were equally impressive. As a freshman, he tallied 80 tackles, six tackles for loss and one forced fumble. He followed that up with a strong sophomore campaign where he recorded 94 tackles, three tackles for loss, two interceptions, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.
