Ebuka Izundu Commits To @CanesHoops
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Ebuka Izundu has signed an Athletic Financial Aid Agreement to play basketball for the University of Miami, head coach Jim Larrañaga announced today.
Izundu is a 6-10 center from Charlotte, N.C., and attended Victory Christian Center School. This past season, he averaged 21 points, 15 rebounds and six blocks. Izundu was named to the first-team All Charlotte Observer his senior year of high school.
“Ebuka Izundu is a young man from Nigeria who is fairly new to the game of basketball,” said head coach Jim Larrañaga. “Like Tonye Jekiri coming out of high school, he is 6-10, 205 pounds and has the potential to develop into an outstanding front court player in our program.”
Listed as a four-star and the No. 70 player in the 2015 class by 247Sports, Izundu is a native of Nigeria and played under coach Auriece McCain at Victory Christian.
“We love his size, length and athletic ability,” Larrañaga continued. “He has a great personality and work ethic. Ebuka can really run the floor, block shots, rebound and score in around the basket.”
Izundu was originally committed to Charlotte, but was granted a release from his NLI. He is choosing Miami over Arkansas and Cincinnati.
