@CanesRowing's 1V8+ Finishes Second at UCF

ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Miami rowing team had a second-place finish in its final regatta before the ACC Championships, the UCF Invitational.

Miami faced off against Old Dominion, Nova Southeastern and the host, UCF. The Canes had four boats competing on Lake Pickett: a 1V8+, 2V8+, 1V4+ and 2V4+.

The Hurricanes’ 1V8+ was Miami’s top boat on Lake Pickett, finishing second in its event with a time of 7:21.4. The Canes edged out Old Dominion and Nova Southeastern, while finishing behind the UCF Knights’ 1V8+

Miami’s 2V4+ was the first Hurricane boat in the water, finishing with a time of 9:42.0 while racing against UCF, Old Dominion and Nova Southeastern.

The Canes’ 1V4+ was next at the starting line, facing off against the UCF Knights, Old Dominion Monarchs and Nova Sharks. Miami’s 1V4+ turned in a time of 9:24.0.

Miami’s 2V8+ also raced against UCF and Old Dominion, finishing with a time of 8:12.2.

The Hurricanes will turn their focus towards preparing for the ACC Championships, scheduled for May 15-16 in Clemson, S.C.
