@CanesRowing Travels to UCF Invitational
ORLANDO, Fla. – After racing a week ago in New Jersey, the University of Miami rowing team is back in Florida this weekend, racing at the UCF Invitational.
Miami will face off against Old Dominion, Nova Southeastern and the host, UCF. The Canes will have four boats competing on Lake Pickett: a 1V8+, 2V8+, 1V4+ and 2V4+.
“This will be the squad’s last opportunity to race before ACCs,” Miami head coach Dave Sanderson said. “Our goal for the weekend, like all race weekends, is to improve upon our previous racing. The athletes are looking to bring together the lessons of past races and the skills they’ve been practicing daily to put together a complete race.”
The first Hurricane boat in the water Saturday will be the 2V4+, racing against UCF, Old Dominion and Nova at 9 a.m.
The Canes will also have a 1V4+ facing off against the UCF Knights, Old Dominion Monarchs and Nova Sharks at 9:30 a.m.
Miami’s 2V8+ hits the water at 9:45 a.m., racing against UCF and Old Dominion, while the 1V8+ will close out the racing action when they compete against UCF, ODU and Nova.
