ProCanes Report: Jones Plays in NBA Playoffs

NBA

James Jones, Cleveland Cavilers –A sharpshooting wing that is known for his ability to shoot from 3-point land, Jones is averaging 4.3 points per game in 11.8 minutes per game with the Cavs. The Cavs have locked up a division title and 2-seed in the Eastern Conference Playoffs.

Shane Larkin, New York Knicks – An explosive point guard, Larkin is averaging 6.2 points, 2.9 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game. He is hitting 43% of his shots, 30% from three and 78% from the line.

John Salmons, New Orleans Pelicans – Salmons began the year playing with the New Orleans Pelicans. On Feb. 19, 2015 he was traded to the Phoenix Suns as part of a three-team deal and was subsequently waived by the Suns just two days later. Salmons averaged 13.0 minutes per game and 2.0 per game with the Pelicans.

D – League

Adrian Thomas, Bakersfield Jam – Thomas currently plays in the D-League, where he is averaging 4.2 points and 13.5 minutes per game.

Trey McKinney Jones, Fort Wayne Mad Ants– McKinney Jones is now a starting guard/forward for Mad Ants. The athletic wing joined the Mad Ants in February after playing as a reserve for Gravelines in France. McKinney Jones is averaging 12.4 points and 4.7 rebounds in 30.8 minutes per game. The Mad Ants recently defeated the Maine Red Claws in the first round of the Eastern Conference D-League playoffs.

Overseas

Garrius Adams, Liege Basketball (Belgium) – Adams is starting at guard/forward for the Liege Basketball team. He played in 20 games this year for Liege, averaging 12.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game in 27.4 minutes per play. The team now stands at 12-13.

Brian Asbury, Hapoel Eliat (Israel) – Asbury is currently playing in the Israel Winner League. The backup forward averages 11.7 points and 5.8 rebounds in 26.0 minutes per game. Hapoel Eliat is currently 13-14.

Rion Brown, Basic-Fit Brussels (Belgium) — After playing in the Israel Winner League for Hapoel Tel-Aviv alongside former Hurricanes teammate Durand Scott, Brown now plays for Basic-Fit Brussels in the Beligum-Scooore League. Brown starts alongside another former Hurricanes teammate, Julian Gamble. He averages 12.0 points and 6.1 rebounds in 31.0 minutes per game. The team has reached a record 11-14 on the year.

Guillermo Diaz, Capitanes de Arecibo (Puerto Rico) – Diaz is currently playing in the Puerto Rico-BSN League. His team has just begun its Liga Americas play after finishing with a 12-5 first place record in the BSN League. Diaz starts at shooting guard and is averaging 12.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 28.0 minutes of play per game.

Julian Gamble, Basic-Fit Brussels (Belgium) — Gamble is the starting power forward for Basic Fit Brussels alongside former Hurricanes teammate Rion Brown. Gamble is the leading rebounder and second leading scorer on the team, averaging 7.8 rebounds and 17.4 points per game. Basic-Fit Brussles is currently 11-14.

Lawrence Gilbert, Al Nahda Al Khobar (Saudi Arabia) –In December, Gilbert signed with Al Nahda Al Khobar of the Saudi Arabian Primer League. Gilbert spent this past summer playing for Once Caldas de Manizales of the Colombian Liga DirecTV.

Gary Hamilton, Osaka Evessa (Japan) – Hamilton plays in the Japan-BJ. He starts at power forward and averages 9.5 rebounds and 6.0 points in 27.0 minutes per game. Osaka Evessa currently holds an impressive 27-21 record.  

Dequan Jones, Acqua Vintasnella Cantu (Italy) — Jones plays for Acqua Vintasnella Cantu in the Italian-Serie A League. Jones starts at small forward and averages 9.5 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. He is shooting over 50% from the field in 23.0 minutes of play per game. 

Kenny Kadji, Banco di Sardegna (Italy) – Kadji signed with Banco di Sardegna Sassari of the Italian-Serie A League. He played in Greece for Aries Trikalla BC prior to switching leagues. Kadji plays as a reserve center and averages 7.5 points and 4.8 rebounds in 15.5 minutes per game.

Anthony King, Artland Dragons (German) — King is the starting center for the Artland Dragons in the German-BBL League. The big man has played in 22 of 30 games this year for the Dragons and is averaging 10 points and 5.4 rebounds in 22.0 minutes per game.

Donnavan Kirk, ASA Koroivos Amaliadas (Greece) – Kirk joined ASA Koroivos Amaliadas of the Greek A1 League in early April. He joined Korolvos after helping his former team, Michelin Etha Engomis Nicosia, win the Cyprus League Cup in an All-Star performance season. Kirk had 14.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game in 15 games for Etha. Kirk is expected to play in Korolvos’ next game on April 18.

Darius Rice, Karpos Sokoli 200 Skpoje, (Macedonia) – Rice starts at power forward for the Karpos Sokoli 2000 Skopje of the FYR Macedonia-Priva Liga. Rice leads the team in scoring and rebounding averaging 19.4 points and 6.4 points per game.

Durand Scott, Hapoel Tel-Aviv (Israel) – Scott starts at small forward for Hapoel Tel-Aviv in Israel. Scott is averaging 15.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game. Scott is his teams’ second leading scorer for the year. Hapoel Tel-Aviv is now 14-13 in the Israel Winner League.
