Baseball Rises to Top 10 in Every Major Poll

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Having extended its winning streak to eight straight games with a weekend sweep of Virginia Tech, the Miami Hurricanes baseball team continued its ascent into the top 10 of the national rankings Monday.

Miami was ranked in the top 10 of every college baseball poll for the first time this season, including a high ranking of No. 6 from both Perfect Game and Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.

The Hurricanes, who toppled top-25 foe FAU in extra innings on April 8 to open a perfect 4-0 week, rose to No. 9 in three different polls: Baseball America’s top 25, the USA TODAY Coaches’ Poll and National Collegiate Baseball Writers’ Association (NCBWA) top 25.

Miami also jumped to No. 10 in D1Baseball.com’s weekly rankings.

Miami is 28-9 overall and sits atop the ACC’s Coastal Division with a 14-4 conference record , five games ahead of both Georgia Tech (9-9) and North Carolina (9-9).

The Hurricanes will wrap up a nine-game homestand Wednesday, April 15 against UCF at Mark Light Field before traveling to Charlottesville, Va., for a series with Virginia beginning Friday, April 17.
