CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team retained a familiar position in the ITA’s national rankings released Tuesday.

As has been the case all but once this year, the Hurricanes are ranked in the top 15 in the country and they sit at No. 14 for the third week in a row.

Miami (9-2, 5-0 ACC) played just one match last week, but won in impressive fashion. Facing Georgia Tech, then No. 51 and now No. 57, Miami earned a 6-1 victory in Atlanta.

Freshman Sinead Lohan and junior Stephanie Wagner, the reigning ACC Player of the Week, both picked up straight set singles victories over opponents ranked in the top 100. Lohan played at the top singles position for the first time in her career in an ACC match.

With the win over the Yellow Jackets, Miami remained undefeated in conference play and sits in a three-way tie atop the ACC standings. Miami is 5-0 in league matches, as are top-ranked North Carolina and No. 24 Duke.

The ACC has five teams ranked in the top 25, tied for the second most of any conference. The quartet of ACC teams in the top 15 is tied for the most in the nation.

The only two teams to beat Miami this season, North Carolina and UCLA, are both ranked in the top five for the second consecutive week.

Paige Yaroshuk-Tews’ team plays its final nonconference match of the regular season Tuesday afternoon in Waco, Texas. Miami meets sixth-ranked Baylor at 1:00 p.m. at the Hurd Tennis Center. Live stats for the match can be found HERE and live video will be available HERE.
