Yuskova to Join @MiamiSwimming in Spring 2015

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Ksenia Yuskova of Moscow, Russia has signed a financial aid agreement to join the University of Miami swimming program and is set to compete for the Hurricanes during the Spring 2015 slate.

Yuskova, who enters Miami as one of the fastest recruits in program history, figures to greatly strengthen the Hurricanes’ relay options and will provide more depth and flexibility during the dual meet-heavy spring season.

“Adding Ksenia to the program is very exciting,” head swimming coach Andy Kershaw said. “Her times speak for themselves. Obviously she is bringing talent to our lineup, and just as importantly, she adds talent to our daily training and will help make everyone around her better.”

Yuskova’s best times in the 50-meter freestyle (25.79), 100-meter freestyle (54.90), 200-meter freestyle (1:56.64), 400-meter freestyle (4:09.53) and 800-meter freestyle (9:02.28) have Kershaw and his team excited about the midyear addition.

“Ksenia has wanted to come to Miami for a long time, and is very excited to finally be a Hurricane,” Kershaw said.

The Hurricanes open their spring slate with a tri-meet at the Whitten University Center Pool on Sat., Jan. 10. Action is slated to begin at 11 a.m., and admission is free. For more information and updates from the team, follow @MiamiSwimming on Twitter.
