The freshman setter dished out 32 assists in three sets against the Tar Heels Friday night and added 35 assists Sunday against the Wolfpack. Templeton was active at the net in Sunday’s match, recording three block assists and tallying her 20th service ace of the season to help Miami sweep NC State.

“It was a dream of mine, since I started playing volleyball, to set for a college team,” Templeton said. “I had always hoped I would contribute as a freshman because of my hard work and determination to help make my team successful.”

The Alpharetta, Ga., native also secured ACC Freshman of the Week honors in back-to-back weeks earlier in the 2014 season, winning on Sept. 29 after dishing out 48 assists and recording five service aces against Notre Dame and Duke. Templeton also won ACC Freshman of the Week on Oct. 6 after distributing an impressive 97 assists and adding six kills, four blocks and an ace in matches against Clemson and No. 5 Florida State.

Templeton has been impressive as a freshman, tallying 783 assists (10.88/set) over 22 matches this season. The 6-foot setter has also been a threat to attack, notching 41 kills on the season, and her 20 service aces rank third on the Hurricanes.

Templeton has accomplished several noteworthy feats this season. The freshman has recorded at least 20 assists in 21 of Miami’s 22 matches this season, including a career-high 53 assists four times (9/13 vs. Ball State, 9/20 vs. Missouri, 10/5 vs. Florida State and 10/10 at Syracuse). Templeton has at least one service ace in 12 of 22 matches this season and has recorded her career-best three on three separate occasions (9/6 vs. Prairie View A&M, 9/19 vs. UNCG and 9/26 vs. Notre Dame).

Miami has now won five ACC weekly awards. Templeton is a three-time ACC Freshman of the Week, while senior Savanah Leaf has been named ACC Player of the Week twice (Oct. 14 and Oct. 20).

The Canes return to the James L. Knight Sports Complex to host Louisville and Virginia next weekend. Miami will welcome Louisville to the ACC on Nov. 7 at 7 p.m., while Virginia will face the Hurricanes at 1 p.m. on Nov. 9. Admission is free to both matches.
